METAPHYSICS VERSUS MYSTICISM

There is a great deal of confusion in the world with regard to metaphysics versus mysticism and many simply believe  them to be one and the same.  Practitioners of metaphysics see themselves as being more evolved than organized religion, while at the same time organized religions often call metaphysics  the work of the devil.

Every soul is on a spiritual evolutionary path whether they are aware of it or not. Those who in previous lives believed in nothing, through the experiences of many lifetimes become to seek for something more.  The search usually begins with the structure that is offered by organized religion but over time evolves beyond the need or desire for the discipline, rules, and regulations that organized religion offers and the seeker moves on to  metaphysics. However, metaphysics  has a completion point as well because even thought it takes the seeker beyond old concepts of God, it still holds beliefs and activities of separation which at a certain point brings every serious seeker to a readiness  for the deeper truths of mysticism and oneness.

Because metaphysics covers a variety of different teachings and practices, there is no one metaphysical path. Metaphysics was the foundation of the ancient mystery school teachings, schools  that actually continue to this day but are largely unknown.  Metaphysics is the foundation underlying  many non-traditional groups, teachings, and practices that range  from Wicken,  Druids, shamanism, energy healing practices, and many more which often causes those still locked in narrow religious belief systems to fear it and say it is “of the devil”.

Ideas about God and spirituality that conflict with a person’s strongly established beliefs frighten those who believe they already know the truth about God which resulted the witch trials and burnings of the past.  Beliefs based in separation from God automatically prevent anything higher from unfolding because the believer has closed him/her self to anything other than what he/she has been told, accepted, and believes regardless of how ridiculous some religious teachings are.

Metaphysics  provides a foundation that prepares a spiritual seeker for deeper truths. Metaphysical beliefs and practices may constitute a person’s belief system over several lifetimes.  Even today, many easily  relate to the practices of metaphysics because they studied in the Mystery Schools of the middle ages.  The tools and practices  of metaphysics are meant move the spiritual seeker out of and beyond beliefs of a ruling punishing God that has to be sacrificed to, pleaded with, and pleased in some way.

In general, metaphysics is learning about,  manipulating, and utilizing various forms of energy in order to change, heal, correct, or shift a bad physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual picture into a better one.  The manipulation of energy is achieved through the use of crystals, chants, hands on energy work, oils, sound, color, and modalities most of which are often considered to be “hocus pocus” by medical or religious belief.

In the past and even today, there are some who choose to use their knowledge of energy manipulation for selfish purposes which is how the “black arts” began and is why so many still associate metaphysics with evil or the work of the “devil”.  Anything that can be utilized for good or for bad represents the third dimensional belief system–duality and separation.  This is why metaphysics is not a stopping point but rather one part of the evolutionary path that leads  to attaining a consciousness of oneness.

Metaphysics utilizes crystals, candles, chants, ceremony, drums, and many more tools to work with energy in order to bring about the desired result.  Generally it is taught and practiced under the supervision of a Guru or  teacher of the particular metaphysical path or organization.  For centuries  these tools have been  used as a powerful and effective means for changing energy from one form into another (healing) but it is also somewhat dependent on and reflective of the state of consciousness of the individual doing the work.

Ancient healing temples successfully used color, sound, oils, touch, and many other modalities  for healing.  Many metaphysical healers today are beginning to remember  their work as healers in the ancient healing temples, recalling techniques they used long ago in the belief that they have discovered something new.

As the energy of earth became increasingly more dense,  these ancient healing techniques were eventually forgotten but now that the energy of earth is beginning to rise to where it once was and beyond, many of these ancient practices, modalities, and techniques are once again becoming accessible.

Mysticism goal and only step beyond metaphysics. Mysticism  is a consciousness of oneness from which the individual lives every facet of their life knowing that all that God is, they are.  The mystic knows that  because there is only One Divine Consciousness infinitely expressing ITSELF as all that is,  everything is already complete,  whole, and perfect and nothing needs changing, fixing, or healing.  Attaining the consciousness of this  is the evolutionary goal of every soul simply because it is the reality.   The process can be delayed but never completely avoided because ONEness is an absolute truth.

The mystical state of consciousness is usually attained after a person has experienced many paths over many lifetimes.  When a person seems to jump into mysticism with no background of religion and with very little effort, it usually means that they did the work necessary for that level of consciousness in previous lifetimes.

Problems arise when a student of truth refuses to let go of an earlier state of consciousness and move on from the tools and modalities that helped them get to where they are now.  Metaphysical  tools  serve well and are an important facet of everyone’s spiritual evolutionary journey but to believe that one needs them and cannot evolve or know God without them, keeps the person in old outgrown energy.

This often happens with metaphysical teachers or healers that have built their life around  certain practices and modalities. Continuing to depend upon some tool or practice after that state of consciousness has been outgrown will block his or her shift into the next phase of their spiritual journey.  The false three dimensional belief system teaches; “I am not whole and I need this tool or that practice to make me whole”  whereas the truth is;  “Everything I have been seeking, I already am”.

Every soul chooses their earth experiences in order to learn and spiritually grow in wisdom and knowledge but the  attained wisdom and knowledge  must then be practiced and lived until it shifts from being intellectual knowledge to  being an attained state of consciousness where it will then  begin to manifest outwardly.

Evolution is simply the process of removing and moving beyond all the false illusory debris one has ignorantly draped all over every aspect of one’s self in order to allow their Divine reality to manifest.

This does not mean that sincere spiritual seekers must throw away the crystals, oils, music etc that they have come to  love. Enjoy these things, feel their energy and utilize it in your work, but do it with full awareness that you do not  NEED these things, they serve to augment the same energies that are already fully present within you.

Never forget; “That which I have been seeking,  I Already Am”.
